The Last Great Hope

Transfer went well. We put back two, a three cell and a seven cell. They thawed all six to get those two, so that's it-the last of the bunch. If this doesn't work out, then it's back to the drawing board.

However..........they do look good, these two embryos. Sean has named them this time, Nate and Kate the Great. The RE said that the seven-cell is the best, but even the three cell is good-no fragmentation, all round, even-sized cells. So, that's that-all we can do is wait.

Now, all you out there in Bloglandia, you have a mission. Distract me until February 19th, which is scheduled to be beta day. Anything. Except weird porn. That's just not a good time.

Although, I do have some hope dwelling inside. Murphy's Law being what it is, I have a strange feeling about this transfer.......particularly that 3-celled one. I mean, we had a morula that didn't take, so you know that the least looking one of the whole batch has to be the one that takes. That, and I got my gym membership card in the mail this week. And the fact that I bought a few pair of new pants. And let's not forget the new bras that I bought.

Just hedging my bets, really. But, really.......let the uterine party get started!

congrats on a successful transfer. 3 and 7 are my lucky numbers, I hope that some of my luck can rub off on you and Nate and Kate the Great.

Distractions, eh? What about a detailed analysis over the next couple of weeks of American Idol? That's silly and inane enough, yes?

It all sounds good! Congrats! I have a few weird distractions for you: Check out this book: Time Traveler: A Scientist's Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality by Ronald L. Mallett. I just listened to his story on NPR. The man spent 50+ years obsessed with time travel so that he could be with his father again to warn him about his future death. His father died when the author was 11. He became a physicist and a professor. And check out this movie, if you can, on You Tube: Director Trent Harris made a movie called The Beaver Trilogy. It's a whole movie that's a rerun, based on a personal rerun that Trent found himself caught in. The story about it, ran on This American Life and is called, "Reruns." It's also worth checking out.

Good luck! I'm glad you're optimistic. We has a FET with a perfect looking blast that went nowhere. I have a son that resulted from a very haverage embryo; I swear, average is where it's at! I'll keep everything crossed for you.

Distractions....If you like SciFi, then rent Taken. It's a 20 hour miniseries on alien abduction over 3 generations, produced by Steven Sbielberg and has Dakota Fanning in it. I swear I couldn't turn it off. Totally addicted, but then I'm a geek like that.

If you can narrow down your likes and dislikes, I'll be happy to help you out more in that area. Best wishes!

hello, nice to make your acquaintance. Got linked here through a friend's blog who is also trying IVF. I'll keep my fingers crossed, say a prayer and maybe even do a little baby dance (it's like a rain dance only more involved). ha ha

My solution in these instances is always buffy. But I know not everyone follows my taste in this. I also go back and re read my favourite books from my teenage years. When's the last time you read 'forever' (judy blume) or 'little women'?

I say buy new shoes too - that way you are distracted. Hopefully you won't be able to wear them later. And if you have my kind of luck (which I regret to say, I think you do) it will really suck to buy these great shoes and not get to wear them and that is something the Universe likes to do to me.

congrats and good luck. I'll be hoping for you. I'm terrible at the 2ww distraction. Blog reading is my distraction - and really that's a terrible one because it just makes you obsess more.

Good luck!

Best of luck!

I can use some distractions myself. My beta will be around the same time.

Best of luck. I'm right there with you in the 2ww. I'm writing and reading blogs for distraction, but I'm not sure that counts as the focus is of said blogs is IVF. Hmmm....
